All kinds of duck favors for baby showers

I associated babies with childhood, and I associate childhood with Ernie singing ‘Rubber Duckie You’re the One’ on Sesame Street. It seemed like a longshot, but I checked to see if there were any duck shower favors available anyway, and I was pleasantly surprised. I got so many great ideas over the net, and finding adorable little accessories and supplies to go with a duck baby shower was easier than I had expected. All kinds of duck favors for baby showers or birthday parties for little ones are out there on the web, and they all look so cute.
I put tables that could seat four apiece in my basement rec room since that was plenty big enough for this size crowd. I got a yellow ducky cake with a couple of layers, the bottom one of which said baby girl in red frosting, and then I put that next to plates, drinks, hors d’oeuvres, and other deserts; on a table on the other side of the room, I put all of the baby shower presents. On the wall I had a huge cut out of Daisy Duck and smaller cutouts of Donald, Mickey and the whole Mickey Mouse Gang.
The place card holders I bought and put out at the shower were miniature pink picture frames that had a little ducky in each of the corners. The punch bowl had ducks painted all over it, as did the plates, napkins, glasses, and favor candles that each guest received as a gift. I went to a department store and purchased a little duck shaped baby bathtub and placed a glass punch bowl inside. It was really kind of cute. I got some duck-shaped jello molds, and I put yellow water in them and froze them so that our ice cubes for the shower looked like little yellow ducklings. I took my duck idea to great extremes.
I got some of my suggestions from friends at the school I work at, but most of my ideas came from browsing the internet. On the Internet is where I found duck shower favors, such as the precious duck favor bookmarkers I found, and the duck candles, too. The people at the shower thought they were to die for, and they got handed out to the winners of the games we did at the shower as well.
I put some rubber duckies in a large, square-shaped, makeshift tub that I filled with water before anyone got to the shower yet. On the bottom of the ducks I wrote numbers and as the guests arrived they each had to pick a duck out of the little pond. We gave out a prize for the person who had the winning number, which I pulled out of a hat a bit later during the shower. We also did the old game where you try to guess which person belongs to which baby picture. Everyone was asked to bring a baby picture of themselves and I put them all on a board, and hung it on the wall. Each guest got a chance to check out the board and see how many pictures they were able to match up with the faces of the other guests. The winner was the person who guessed right on the most of them, and they were awarded a shower favor.
We had a lot of fun, great laughs and the mother to be got some really neat gifts for her little girl. I’m very happy with the amount of help I got from going on the Internet. I didn’t know how it would all come together, but it all worked out very well in the end. The duck theme really was a cute idea.
