Sweet 16 favors for my daughter!

I was planning a birthday party for my daughter, who was turning sixteen and needed some suggestions. A friend of mine said she went online and found a lot of accessories and party favors for her daughters party. So, I figured I’d see what they have. It was surprising to find so many ideas for party supplies for the tables and little gifts. There were a lot of accessories I found that would be perfect for her party. I was able to make cookies in the shape of the number 16 as one of the snacks for her party with the cookie cutters I ordered.

Before making any plans, I got her opinion on what she wanted for her party, and it was a party at the roller rink with all the girls sleeping over. I immediately got on the phone and reserved tables at the local roller rink. Then I invited all of her best girl friends. It wasn’t nearly as expensive as I thought it would be. They had a great package deal for birthday parties, with pizza, hot dogs and refreshments. I got the house prepared for the party that was to continue after skating. I put out the cookies I had made, along with a few other snacks, and set up birthday decorations.

The cookie cutters wasn’t the only thing I ordered online. Since I saved money on the roller rink deal, I decided it would be nice to get the girls a few sweet sixteen favors. Each of the girls got a disposable camera to take pictures of this evenings event and a pink photo album to store them in. I gave them the cameras before we left for the roller rink, but they had no idea about the albums until later. I’m glad they only took a few pictures at the skating rink, so they would be able to take pictures of the sleepover too.

I also bought each of them little cosmetic bags with their initials on the front. With the cosmetic bags I bought manicure sets and little purse mirrors to go with it. I also sat out these adorable little favor boxes I bought online that were filled with candies for each guest. We left the rink and went home to have her sweet sixteen favor and watch her open her presents. So, with all the other snack foods, soft drinks and the chick flicks we picked up on the way home, they were a bunch of happy campers. They danced for a while, then they gave each other manicures with their new sets, and of course, they did the make up thing. You could tell they were all having a fantastic time.

Finally, things started to quiet down and they broke out the popcorn and movies. I wanted to give them as much space as I could and not intrude on their girl time, but I got an invitation to join them for a movie. It made me feel good that they wanted to include me. They were able to watch two of the movies we rented before eyes started closing. Now it was down to just me and my daughter and she didn’t make it very long. Just before she closed her eyes, she let me know how much she appreciated her super birthday party.

When I got up in the morning the girls were already downstairs and had eaten, then straightened up everything from the party. I thought that was very thoughtful of them to do that for me. Most of the girls went home after a couple hours of hanging out with my daughter. As they were leaving, the girls thanked me for the wonderful time they had and all of the cheap sweet sixteen favors I bought for them. So, I guess that makes me a cool mom, hey?
